2024 PRIDE MONTH

In 2023, Pride YMM hosted the first Pride Month for the entirety of June. Events included the Opening Ceremony and Flag Raising, Coffee Social, Pride Pool Party, Community Inclusivity Training, Queens VS Queers Softball Game, Queer Prom, Two-Spirit Showcase, Pride After Party, as well as the seventh annual Pride YMM Festival at the beautiful Heritage Shipyard. Pride Month also included over 20 community events by supporting organizations and groups, with participants in the thousands.

The week of June 19-25, 2022 was celebrated as Pride Week in Wood Buffalo, with events like Drag Bingo, Pride Yoga, Tie-Die Shirt Contest, Two-Spirit: Reclaiming our Roles, Drag Paint Night, After Party, and the sixth annual Pride YMM Festival.

The first Pride YMM Festival took place in 2017 at the Jubilee Plaza in Fort McMurray, Wood Buffalo, AB, and is a celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, equity, and diversity in our region. It has since grown from a one-day event into a full month showcasing and supporting the queer community through affirming events, development opportunities, celebrations, and showcases.
